Pricelight privacy policy

Pricelight is a Shopify app that shows shoppers the real checkout price of a store's automatic discounts on product, collection and search pages. This policy explains what information the app handles. In short: Pricelight does not collect, store or sell personal information about shoppers or merchants.

Information the app uses

• Display settings (merchant). Where prices appear, badge text and similar settings are saved in your own Shopify theme (app embed settings). They are not copied to our servers.
• Plan (merchant). The app home reads your Pricelight subscription through the Shopify Admin API, in your browser, and saves the plan name (“free” or “pro”) as an app metafield in your own store so the storefront script knows which features to show. Nothing is sent to or kept by us.
• Theme setting (merchant). The setup check reads your live theme's settings file (read only) to show whether the Pricelight app embed is turned on. No theme files are changed or copied.
• Prices (shopper). To find the checkout price, the storefront script asks Shopify's public Storefront API to price a temporary cart containing the product being viewed. This request goes from the shopper's browser to Shopify, not to us. It contains product identifiers and quantities only — no name, e-mail, address or payment details — and the temporary cart is never the shopper's real cart. Results are kept in the shopper's browser session storage for up to 10 minutes to avoid repeated requests, then discarded.
• Hosting. The Pricelight app pages and the endpoint that receives Shopify's privacy webhooks run on Cloudflare Pages. These requests carry your shop domain and a Shopify session token or webhook signature, which are checked and not stored.

Information we do not collect

We do not collect names, e-mail addresses, phone numbers, addresses, payment details, IP-based tracking, cookies for advertising, or browsing history. The app uses no analytics or tracking scripts, and adds nothing to checkout.

Shopify's app page shows that installed apps can access basic store-owner details (name, e-mail, phone, address) — this applies to every app. Pricelight does not read or store these details.

Shopify privacy webhooks

Shopify sends required privacy requests (customer data request, customer redact, shop redact) to our server. Because we hold no customer data, we acknowledge them; if we ever store shop-level data, it is deleted when a shop redact request arrives.

Your data on request, and deletion

We hold no personal data about merchants' customers. On request we confirm this in writing. All Pricelight data lives in your own Shopify store; the app metafield and embed settings are removed with the app installation, and we keep nothing after uninstall.

Sharing

We do not share, sell or rent any information. Data handled by Shopify is governed by Shopify's privacy policy.

Your rights

Uninstalling Pricelight stops all processing immediately; your storefront shows the theme's own prices again. You may contact us at any time about this policy.
