Set up in 2 steps

  1. Turn on the Pricelight app embed in your theme (Online Store → Themes → Customize → App embeds) and choose where prices appear.
  2. Use automatic discounts (Discounts → Create discount → Automatic). Pricelight shows what Shopify will charge at checkout; a code discount cannot be shown before the shopper enters the code.

Then open a product with an automatic discount in your storefront. Within about a second the list price is crossed out and the checkout price appears with a savings badge.

Common questions

Nothing changes on my product page

In order of likelihood: (1) the app embed is off — open Pricelight from Apps, the Setup check shows it and has a Turn on app embed button; (2) the discount is a code discount or is not active yet; (3) the discount does not apply to that product or needs a minimum quantity or amount (then Pro shows a “Buy 3, pay … each” note instead); (4) your theme names its price element differently — e-mail us the product page, or paste a CSS selector into the embed's Custom price selector setting.

Why does the price only change after the page loads?

The checkout price is computed by Shopify when the page opens. Pricelight waits for the page to finish loading so it never slows your store down, then updates the price, usually within a second.

Does the price match the cart?

Yes — it is Shopify's own cart pricing for that product in the shopper's country and currency, including Markets prices. Discounts that depend on the whole cart (for example “10% off orders over $100”) are shown only when the product alone qualifies.

Collection pages and search results

Pro. Pricelight checks the products on the page in one request and then confirms each discounted one, so the badges you see are the prices shoppers will pay.

Quantity deals

Pro. When a discount needs a minimum quantity (buy 2 or 3), product pages show “Buy 3, pay $X each (30% off)” under the price.

Compare-at (sale) prices

If your theme already shows a sale price (compare-at), Pricelight only changes the price when an automatic discount lowers it further.

Plans & billing

Free: product pages, badge, discount name. Pro (US$4.99/month or US$39/year): collection pages, search results, quantity deals. Change plans any time from Pricelight → See plans; billing is through Shopify. You are not charged until Pricelight shows prices correctly on your theme — if it does not within your trial, tell us and we fix the theme or you simply stay on Free.

Uninstalling

Uninstall any time. Your theme shows its own prices again immediately; nothing of yours is kept by us.

Honest limits

Pricelight only changes what is displayed. It does not create discounts, change prices or touch checkout. It cannot show code discounts, and it cannot show cart-wide discounts for a product that does not qualify on its own. Shopify Plus checkout customisations are not needed and not used.
